That sure was a twisted article. The AR-15 wasn’t even in this guy’s possession when he shot that cop. He surrendered it back in November.
Yet the AR-15 was in the headline. That would make sense only if you’re more interested in an anti-gun agenda than in reporting the facts.
There are quite a few shotguns based on the AR platform.
The cops always release the perp's name. Always. Every time.
The reason why it takes a longer time to release the perp's name is because they have to be 100 percent certain of his identity and then they have to notify next of kin. And only after all of this will they release his identity.
There's no conspiracy.

Scatterbrained is right. First they name the supposed gunman, then in the 5th paragraph down they say: “Davis police have not yet released the name of the gunman, who they say shot himself inside his rental home at 501 E St. in Davis after Corona was killed.”
So they didn’t have his ID immediately, and now this. Just damn.
