FULL TITLE: Devin Nunes: Counterintelligence bombshell shows FBI leaders 'had no real evidence against the Trump team'
Rep. Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said the New York Times' bombshell report on a counterintelligence investigation into President Trump's ties to Russia only strengthens the argument that the FBI has no evidence of collusion against the Trump team.
"This is yet more evidence that FBI leaders actually had no real evidence against the Trump team," Nunes said in a statement obtained by the Washington Examiner's Byron York. "Instead, they were simply trying to undermine a president they didn't like and avenge Comey's firing. By relying on the Steele dossier — a fraudulent document funded by Democrats and based on Russia sources — FBI leaders were either complicit or too oblivious to notice they were being used in a disinformation operation by the Democratic Party and Russian operatives."
On Friday, the New York Times reported the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation into Trump the day after he fired FBI Director James Comey in the spring of 2017. The counterintelligence inquiry was later wrapped into the FBI's broader Russia collusion investigation, which special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed to lead after Comey's ouster. That inquiry is still ongoing.
In a follow-up, the Washington Post reported the president took steps to try to protect his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including pressuring a translator to withhold information on discussions between the two leaders from administration officials.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has called the Times report "absurd," and when he was asked about whether he has ever worked for the Russians during an interview with Fox News' Jeanine Pirro late Saturday, Trump said it was "t he most insulting thing I’ve ever been asked."

IIRC, Comey, at his meeting with the President, told the President that he (Comey) could be fired at any time (see Comey's notes). AND he said it more than once.
Looking back, it was an "I dare you".
Eh...a bombshell, would lead me to expect the Dems to stop complaining, otherwise it’s not a bombshell. The Dems just want to hate and facts don’t matter.
It’s all moot so long as there is no justice being meted out. A farce.
Trumps only “crime” was that he was not one of the “INSIDERS”.
Trump’s crime was winning the election.
It’s not like anyone is going to read anything and think: “Oh, OK, let’s just call it off.” Until somebody (AG) grows an actual pair and says enough is enough.
Bombshells never seem to reach any high-value targets. I am tired of that over-used media expression.
I’ve become so jaded and cynical I’ve stopped reading these articles. Nobody wants to punish the conspirators, seditionists and traitors. It’s all business as usual in the swamp. The eternal being Deep State just rolls on like old man river.

The results of Mueller’s investigation are unknown so Mueller’s reputation hasn’t been completely made or broken yet. Does he want to damage his reputation or place in history by publishing obviously distorted or poorly based results?
I can easily believe that he doesn’t want to do that.

Nunes has known this 'investigation' was falsely predicated due to no paragraph one crime to predicate warrants. He has held off exposing this until a propiscious time to speak up. We are about to see the ope ing of floodgates exposing criminal obamaroid regime acts. This floodgate will bring the unredaction of massive data that substantiates the Sedition. Truth sometimes requires astepwise reveling.
