President Trump declines to answer a final question from the press as he departs the White House Jan. 14, 2019 in Washington, DC.

President Trump is digging in his heels on his demand for a border wall, telling aides and allies that he believes he is winning the battle for public support.

Over the last 24 hours, Trump has privately touted a Washington Post-ABC News poll indicating that public support for a border wall has increased to 42% from 34% last year, a source familiar with his comments told CNN.

I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it.

Trump is a genius. Keeping this Border Wall front and center. Placing the government shutdown squarely as it belongs on the back of the democrats as they refuse to cooperate during this crisis.

And further, it has SHUT UP the democratic plans to impeach him. I kind of wish they would start making noise along that line. It would only infuriate the average American even more. To be the blame of the shutdown AND to call for an impeachment of a very popular president.

If they were ready to do it a year ago, why didn’t they?

"He can’t get them to put a single offer on the table."

Exactly, It's not Trump that won't negotiate. It's the Democrats.

Couldn’t CNN run a similar story entitled “Pelosi & Schumer Won’t Budge an Inch on Wall Funding”?

Trump needs to pivot this to a discussion of permanent cuts.

Cut entire departments. Start with education, energy and environment. Three Es. Easy peasey.

If Trump is unable to get rid of a significant amount of corruption in the executive and judiciary branches, not to mention effectively addressing voter fraud; and the democrats gain control of the government, God help us, and send revival, because the last seven years before the end will surely follow close behind.

The survey was of “Americans”, NOT citizens.

No mention about how many were here illegally.

I think he would take $3 billion and reopen. I suspect that his problem will be the GOP congress which has no spine to speak of, never has. They will eventually start to murmurer and eventually do something like, we will do a CR for a few weeks so we can talk about funding for the wall. And of course the Democrats will not budge in that time frame. Trump will not go along with this GOP cowardice and they will eventually with Democrat votes pass this type of funding.

Trump will veto this bill and then the GOP will vote to override the veto and reopen the government. Trump will then pound the GOP traitors and the Democrats for this in the 2020 campaign and he will pick one or two GOP lackeys out and go after them in the primaries.

You actually believe polls? And polls by CNN? Seriously???

Yeah, I don’t think that helps either.

There’s stuff like that and worse over at Yahoo. They seem to be experts at finding vile stuff over there.
