President Trump declines to answer a final question from the press as he departs the White House Jan. 14, 2019 in Washington, DC.

President Trump is digging in his heels on his demand for a border wall, telling aides and allies that he believes he is winning the battle for public support.

Over the last 24 hours, Trump has privately touted a Washington Post-ABC News poll indicating that public support for a border wall has increased to 42% from 34% last year, a source familiar with his comments told CNN.

Trump won't "budge even 1 inch"...

I'm fine with budging 1", 2", a foot, 10 feet. As long as it's in the direction of making the wall higher.

"He can’t get them to put a single offer on the table."

And so, it would seem, the Democrats "won't budge even one inch" on the issue.

I'll be damned...has anyone reported THAT yet?

And Pelosi/Schumer won’t budge one inch as well.

Who do you think will blink?

I suspect that his problem will be the GOP congress which has no spine to speak of, never has.

The wall should have been funded and mostly built by now. We had both houses and the presidency for two years and should have rammed it through the way the RATs rammed Obamacare through when they were in control.

And using the Democrat government workers as a lever. Don’t think they’re not screaming through their AFGE union to get the Dems to buckle.

Does anyone think that any of of the GOP candidates in 2016 would have the backbone for this fight?

Trump is the man for these times.

Let’s hope POTUS stays the course, because if he does he will prevail.

The RATs' sole objective is to deny President Trump a win, no matter what the cost. Nothing else matters.

Fake news channels are talking about Russia, Russia, Russia.

Shutdown isn’t a winning issue for Democrats no matter what their fake polls say.

Because if their fake polls were accurate, they would be blaming the shutdown on Trump ad nauseum 24/7.

That’s exactly what they aren’t doing, like the dog that didn’t bark in the Sherlock Holmes story.

Its a big tell, indeed.

"Trump [and the 61,943,670 citizens who elected him] won't "budge even 1 inch" on border wall funding, source says"

There! Fixed it.

Speaker Pelosi is forcing taxation without representation on the citizens who gave PDJT his majority electoral votes.

President Trump should just throw down the gauntlet and say either he gets the money build the wall through Congress. Which in turn will put American union labor to work earning prevailing wage. Or he will declare an emergency and put our Soldiers to work building the wall at a much cheaper cost.

The cost of deployed military would be much cheaper than prevailing wage people slow-walking every brick.

He’s waited two years and got a lot of promises for “later”. Now it’s time to get the job done.

“Pelosi & Schumer Won’t Budge an Inch on Wall Funding”?

Those two flaming hypocrites along with the MSM ridiculed Trump for referring to it as a "wall", so it should read:

"Pelosi & Schumer Won't budge an Inch on funding U.S. Border Security."

Why do they even ask people who didn’t vote? If only a third of the country voted, then their opinion is the only one that matters.

“You actually believe polls? And polls by CNN? Seriously???”

Get real.

I was quoting the article, then commenting on the fact that nobody cares about who is responsible for the shutdown. They only care about the wall issue.

Trump will not go along with this GOP cowardice and they will eventually with Democrat votes pass this type of funding. Trump will veto this bill and then the GOP will vote to override the veto and reopen the government.

That is certainly a possible scenario; however, you are more of an optimist than I about the next phase.

IMO, after such a veto it seems possible enough shaky RINOS in the Senate gifted with all manner of inducements would thereupon find it very easy to complete the impeachment process and throw Trump out of office.

I could be wrong though, I also thought that given what happened in plain view during their first 4 years there was no way in hell either Clinton or Obama would capture a second term.
