A mass drug overdose in Chico, California, Saturday attributed to the opioid fentanyl underscored reports that the dangerous substance drove 2017 statistics showing Americans were more likely to die of drug overdoses than car crashes.
One person has died and 12 people were in the hospital, some in serious condition, after overdosing on substances likely including the extremely strong synthetic opioid, Chico police said according to NBC News.
Fentanyl was concentrated in eastern states when it first came to the attention of law enforcement and public health authorities, but now western states are also seeing its effects.
We were waiting, and have been waiting unfortunately, for this to happen in the sense that we knew fentanyl had been moving west, Chico Police Chief Michael OBrien said according to NBC News.

Appears to be a self-correcting problem.
As the daughter of two dead meth addicts forgive me if I say that the fentanyl ‘crisis’ will eventually solve itself.
CA is a sanctuary state. What did they expect?

Only a problem if people are driving or using equipment.

“in the sense that we knew fentanyl had been moving west, Chico Police Chief Michael...”
Are we to believe the Chinese only now have realized that it’s as easy to FedEx fentanyl to California as Ohio?
I agree with “self cleaning oven” I think they should add 10% fentanyl to every bag of drugs that come in.

Dimocraps dropping like flies....
I really don't think I give a hoot.... Sorry.
That's very brave of you to put that out there. I am sure that didn't come without some pain. I cant completely disagree with your statement, however it is sad the loss that comes with that solution. You would certainly know more than most. Prayers up.
We really need to investigate the flood of foreign doctors that have come into the U.S. Many of them are the reason for the massive over prescribing of opioids. I am sure there is a kickback in that scheme somewhere.
My son had some problems last month. They put him into an induced coma (for about 10 days). They used two drugs via IV. Fentanyl and the Michael Jackson drug.
I’ve never had it but I do have some fentanyl patches I’ve never used.
Fentanyl can be deadly in too high a concentration, or if you’re not opioid tolerant, before using. Just so you know, if you have not been on at least 30 mg of oxy or 60 mg of morphine, per day, first, applying that fentanyl patch could kill you. (Naturally, in a hospital setting it can be safely administered).
