Man, I think Trump has some Machiavelli s--t up his sleeve.

Shutting down the government means no foreign aid. Which means no kick-backs to Democrats. It also infuriates their base (government bureaucrats, poor underclass who won't get their food stamps or housing).

And Trump has billions of dollars to play with from the Omnibus Budget which fully funds the military, and can declare a state of an emergency at any time.

This is more about breaking the collective backs of the Left than it is about mere funding for a wall.

If President Trump suggested this: “After looking at all of these federal agencies complaining about their forced vacations, a large number of them should be eliminated, saving trillions of dollars. Let's start with the Department of Education. Let the states run them. Then a few dozen more agencies.”

At that point, the liberals would start screaming at their Democrat critters in Congress to build that wall fast.

When Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats flew off to party in Puerto Rico in the middle of the longest Shutdown in history, they didn’t only show contempt for government workers, they also showed contempt for the leftist media.

Nancy made it clear that she believed leftist reporters were such abject, fawning slaves to the Democrats that no matter how objectionable their behavior — including photos of a Democratic Senator lusting after a bikini-clad trollop on a Puerto Rican beach — they would never, ever, utter a bad word against the Democrats.

Maybe leftist reporters are tired of being treated like lowly workhorses on the Democratic Plantation and will begin to write like dignified human beings, including criticizing the Democrats when their behavior warrants.
