Nick Vallelonga, one of the writers and producers of the Golden Globe-winning dramedy Green Book, has deleted his Twitter account after coming under intense criticism for a 2015 tweet in which he repeated Donald Trump’s thoroughly debunked claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the Sept. 11 attacks.
Vallelonga’s tweet called Trump’s falsehood “100% correct” and claimed, “Muslims in Jersey City cheering when towers went down. I saw it, as you did, possibly on local CBS news.”
Such claims have been definitively debunked by outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post.

What I observed as "thoroughly debunked" was the media's assertion that Trump mocked a person's handicap when he was mocking the person’s poor memory.
The poor memory Trump referred to was the inability of the person to recall a report he wrote for the Washington Post newspaper describing people celebrating the 9/11 attack.
At the time of 911, we had a freeper who worked in a hotel on Marco Island, FL, a nice place with a large contingent of muslim guests. He reported that they all stood up and cheered when the news arrived.
I believe this.
Also, the Somali’s who live south of Seattle cheered I don’t. have an eyewitness to cite, but believe it’s true.
After the first World Trade Center bombing, a then friend who had immigrated to the US from Mexico essentially cheered and said that ‘it was about time the US got a taste of its own medicine’.
If you hate America, don’t come here - even for vacation.
It is proven that various communities cheered 9/11 and even white liberals came to the conclusion that we deserved it. These a-holes are trying to whitewash history. Soon,9/11 will just be perceived as an unfortunate event that was Bush’s fault.
I remembered and SAW IT LIVE on CNN. Yes, I do have a good memory. The idiot CNN reporter even questioned and interviewed one of the rags why they were doing it at the same time, the rest of the animals were cheering in the background.
Those claims are just as false as the widely-held belief that Obama was Muslim and not Christian. I have no idea why people believe their own eyes, even when the media tell them what they are supposed to believe.
Not to other Muslims, I hope. They're not supposed to be drinking!
I saved several items confirming the “debunked” story, including a call to the Howard Stern show. Trump is absolutely correct.
On 9/11/01 I was at our home In Gothenburg, Sweden. I got tired of watching CNN International and walked to the main avenue two blocks away.
It was like a street party. All the Muslims came downtown. Honking horns and slapping each other on their backs. Dreadful.
The crowd was probably 2000-3000 people.
I also have a clip of a NYC police commissioner confirming the story.
Rudolph Giuliani also backed the story up.

What a bunch of crap.
I seem to recall TV stations playing videos of the cheering long before Trump made a comment or re-tweet about it.
And what if they did? it is human nature, as abhorrent as it is.
That is why when some one says ‘Thoroughly debunked’ you know they are just lying or they are thoroughly clueless.
Right, human nature just changed for the better and not ONE not ONE recent muslim immigrant celebrated? Yeah right.
But the New York Times said it wasn’t true. So there. . .

Amazing that some people never seem to notice that Obama constantly referred to the “Holy” Koran while in any mention of the bible he never once said Holy Bible. He was about as convincing as a Christian as a typical Southern Baptist preacher would be as a Muslim. I don’t know that Obama could be called a good Muslim but it is a total certainty that he is no more of a Christian than he is a one-eyed giant.
