I was in NZ 6 weeks ago...
Talked to some long time personal associates...
was looking forward to some lamb...didn’t even get offered mutton...
Nobody was planning to have the much loved lamb dinner this year...
and if you do know someone in lamb, remind him that its better and cheaper to raise sheep for food than beef,,,shorter gestation period less fat etc
Note: I love beef...
Years ago NZ used to send a lot of lamb to England...
But not so much that it affected the price for households back home...
Now however a huge amount of lamb is sent to Europe...due to the EU trade agreements in England...
and so the NZers get $28 a pound for what was once the cheapest meat and 4 times a week staple and from whence the supply comes !!!
