In late November, as the Gilets Jaunes—or Yellow Vests—protest movement took hold in France, Martin Goillandeau and Makana Eyre wrote for CJR that participants were harassing, and even assaulting, journalists. Since then, the protests have become a weekly occurrence. So, too, have threats against reporters. “The harassment and violence have got worse,” Eyre told me this morning. “I went to the Saturday protests in Paris to shoot photos and see how big it would get. This was the first time that I really felt nervous with my camera… I saw people interfering with broadcasts, shouting at media teams, and getting in their faces. For much of it, I had my camera in my coat.”
This past weekend, a group of Yellow Vests in the northern city of Rouen set upon two journalists working for LCI, a French TV news broadcaster; they were spared by two bodyguards, one of whom ended up in hospital with a broken nose. Protesters aggressed another LCI team in Paris. In Toulon, two Agence France-Presse reporters were chased by about 10 people, while in nearby Marseille, photographers were hassled and blocked from taking pictures. In Toulouse, a group of protesters trapped a 31-year-old local journalist in her car and threatened her with rape. ....

Perhaps it’s because the selfsame media ‘informed’ us over a month ago that the yellow vest protests were on the wane and about to disappear.
Can’t wait for it to start here in the USA! I’d pay money to see a couple of my “favorites” get their cameras “shoved up their you know what’s!”
TV cameras and mics have been weaponized by the left. The people who wield them are combatants.

Based on the output of the NYT and the WP, I would only ask whether they are dead, yet, and if not, why not?
Any core message the Yellow Vests may have began with is now being lost. They appear intent on destroying public property and socially going in all directions. If this lasts into February, the French president will very likely feel justified in smacking them all down in direct and brutal fashion.

The Macron government certainly has turned to force against the "Gilets Jaune" and will certainly ratchet things up in the future - they're Leftist/globalist despots.

I would actually like to see video of this before I believe they were actually Yellow Vests. Anarchists and Antifa types have been doing most of the damage and intimidation. But even if it was Yellow Vests “the French president” would be DAFT to think he would be justified “in smacking them down” which is exactly what you want to see. You are a left wing plant sir.

The Yellow Vests are the the good guys, the poor oppressed Euro taxpayer, and they’re getting jacked over by Macron and his globalist buddies the French Media.
The YV’s are ordinary people fed up with Euro-taxation, Euro-elites, and Euro-immigration; they are, in fact, just like the Tea Party, and getting portrayed the same way - as a bunch of violent right-wing neo-Nazis. Wouldn’t be surprised if Macron planted agents provacateurs among the YV’s, just to make them look bad.
But I guess the fact that you believe the lie shows how successful the French Media has been in slandering a genuine ground-up protest. Sadly, that’s how the globalists win.
