It is a fact that the middle class will bear the major part of the tax burden. The big rich have tax shelters and off shore accounts to keep their money away from the Federal treasury. The Tom Steyers and George Soros are laughing their way to the bank.

This is why I am (seriously) in favor of switching to an imperial form of government. That worked well for the Romans after their republic was corrupted. That might be the only way to preserve our culture and national identity.

Yes. I was looking at the 2018 Federal Income Tax forms yesterday - the 1040 itself is “simpler” (sort of) but now up to 6 additional “schedules” (in addition to the old ones) may apply. Great...

The (up to) 20% small business deduction is much appreciated, but other than that, what is needed is tax code complexity reduced by about 25% each year. (Like I think that will actually happen? Hah!!)
