I wasn’t aware of that. However, this shutdown and threats of future ones could undermine the program (a good thing) by making far fewer landlords willing to accept Section 8.
Tough luck. Keep it closed until the wall is fully funded. Many have sacrificed much for this country. Some need to sacrifice now for this country. Stop whining. Accept the “burden”.
Well this story is in my State and these people live off the Government for their daily substance...Wards of the State more or less...

Well as I said.
While a misleading article, this isn’t about federal workers. It is about poor people who receive government subsidies.
Indeed however on the plus side they can rent out a closet to five illegals no shortage of them problem solved.
Until a local judge gives the tenants whatever time they need.
Happens all the time.
The government giveth and the government taketh away.
By the way, government workers are much better compensated than people in the private sector, on average.
Why do they live so far beyond their means?
Yeah, I got that after I hit the post button. Nonetheless, since it had to do with the shutdown and govt payouts, I let it stand.
We are talking about those people who are working for the government. Not ending welfare.
