Im trying to figure out - why does the UK have to make ANY sort of deal at all with the EU? Unfortunately, during their time in the EU, Britain opened their fishing areas to the other EU countries and must negotiate for their return or lose fishing rights. The Welsh are quite irate about this.

That's more than enough reason for the Brits to tell the EU to eff off.

A few of Her Majesty's frigates on patrol should settle this quite nicely.

If only the Brits had some sort of naval thingy to protect their territorial waters and enforce their sovereignty.

Just finish the withdrawal, declare previously negotiated EU-based agreements null, and be prepared to use the Navy to enforce it.

2 words: Royal Navy.
The EU should not be allowed to keep what is rightfully the UK’s.
