The UK is neither a democracy nor a republic, the referendum was a foolish idea since, at the end of the day, the role of people voting in their system is quite limited.

Well arguably the UK is a system of responsible government. We vote and then trust the leaders to be leaders and make the hard decisions. Of course if that was the case Brexit would never have happened. But they made the choice to enact a referendum and should stick by it.
