Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen undercut Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s justification for delaying the State of the Union speech, saying Wednesday that her department can handle security for the event even amid a government shutdown.
Ms. Nielsen, on Twitter, said the Secret Service is “fully prepared to support and secure the State of the Union.”
Earlier in the day Mrs. Pelosi had sent a letter to President Trump telling him to ditch the Jan. 29 date planned for his address to Congress and the country. She said that with the shutdown, she feared the government couldn’t guarantee security.

Makes me wonder as well. The level of hostility is going far beyond disagreements. It is a party out of control willing to put America at risk in order to keep and semblance of power. I truly wonder if they get what amount of fire they are playing with. They certainly seem completely out of touch and drunk on power with a complicit media covering for them. Dangerous times...
With that “justification,” I wouldn’t be surprised if they hired an assassin already.
They are terrified of Trump giving a national broadcast where the msm HAS to cover it. He’s winning the wall battle, and they are trying to prevent more converts.

When she first took the job at DHS, she seemed a little too mousey, for me. I was concerned because, as we all have been saying, we need TOUGH, STRONG people.
Shortly after that one of the representatives of the Border Patrol, I don’t think it was Homan, was on Varney. He was saying that things could be better if only...and he raised his voice...the HEAD OF HOMELAND SECURITY would get to the border and do her job.
I have seen a remarkable improvement since then.
I get the feeling SanFranNan with the sore vagina doesn’t want to be seen in public squirming because her medication isn’t working.
Then again she might be squirming because she knows she’s losing this battle of the House Dem Commies against the POTUS.
