I am REALLY sick of peoplenon both sides describing the Democrats as “retaking the majority” in the House, as if Dem control were the default position. Over the last quarter-century, The Democrats have been in control of the house for over nkh FOUR years. It only seems like more becauss of quislings like Hastert, Boehner, Ryan and their supporting cast/enablers.

I think Democrats had little to do with the loss of the house last November.
It was mostly Paul Ryan and it was by design.
He allowed far to many retirements and resignations. He did not work for campaign cash. He repeatedly attacked the party and its leader throughout the campaign.
The remainder of the loss belongs to John McCain who killed the repeal and replacement of Obamacare

The “people of color” base of the Democrat Party is no longer interested in being represented by white liberals. This presents a problem for the “old guard”, especially white feminist democrats.
