Throughout the centuries many of the advancements in Western civilization are strongly tied to the Judaeo-Christian religious beliefs of its scientists, philosophers, politicians and artists. It shaped their vision of the world.

I think it goes back farther than that. To the Greco-Roman culture that predates Christianity. I believe western cultures dominance is because of our Greco-Roman, Judeo-Christian, and enlightenment heritage. Take away any of those and we would not be where we are at.
