The source URL points to a video done by Dr. Krauthammer before his death last year. I had not seen it before, and it's worth watching.

I disagree with one point: After getting a grip on illegal immigration, he suggests total amnesty for those 11 million who are already here. I would make the following change: Starting today, and lasting for a period of one month, anyone who is an illegal needs to register as such with a to-be-named existing Federal Agency. Only those who are registered within that time frame will later be given amnesty. All others will be expelled upon discover...no exceptions, no boo-hoo we're meanies arguments. They had the chance and chose to ignore it.
It’s a stupid solution. It’s the same solution that was implemented in 1986, and the problem has only gotten worse.
No discussion of amnesty until a wall is built and illegal immigration is cut to almost zero.

There are at least 30 million illegal aliens in the US.
One more amnesty is all the one worlders need to steal the country from US (US citizens).

The 1986 amnesty directly led to 10 times the number of illegal aliens.
My sensible solution. We build the wall - 100%. Any illegal caught in the US, will be immediately booted out and never allowed to return. If an illegal self-deports before then, then they could get in line through the normal immigration process.
No more anchor babies, no amnesty to anyone. Reduce the Visas for workers - too much abuse. End lotto visa entry. End all subsidies to all immigrants - only citizens. If a legal immigrant cannot support themselves, send them home - no return. End all visas from enemy countries.

And! Fix the amnesty law so it cannot be abused!
Trump needs to make this a part of the current negotiations to end shutdown. If negotiations ever happen.
Krauthammer was a Bush League Republican.

What amnesty law? There was a one-time, never to happen again blanket amnesty in 1986 for illegal aliens who had been here for at least 5 years and had committed no more than two misdemeanors.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), Pub.L. 99–603, 100 Stat. 3445, enacted November 6, 1986, was also known as the Simpson–Mazzoli Act or the Reagan Amnesty. It was a major mistake. The government estimated that one million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. The process was fraught with fraud with phony document operations set up near the processing centers.
An “America First” solution ... what we need.
Now might be a good to for POTUS (possibly using SOTU) to declare an initiative that no illegals are allowed Federal freebies. The spigot is being turned off.
Turn the screws on Chuck and Nancy a little more and sit back to watch them defending illegals over United States citizens.
1986 was already the “one time amnesty”, Congress promised. Letting them off the hook of their promise is not an option if you ever want an honest and honorable Congress again.
