Calls for President Donald Trump's impeachment grew among Democrats on Friday after a report said he had directed Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer and fixer at the time, to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
BuzzFeed News on Thursday evening reported that Cohen told special counsel Robert Mueller the president personally instructed him to lie to Congressional investigators in order to minimize links between Trump and his Moscow building project, citing two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter. The report also alleged that Cohen was directed to give a false impression that the project had ended before it actually did.
NBC News has not independently confirmed this report.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, called the allegation the “most serious to date” Thursday evening and said that his committee would look into the matter.
“The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date,” Schiff said in a tweet. “We will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”

Mr. Cohen knows that when a plot against the emperor failed, the conspirators were given two options, both unpleasant. Mr. Cohen also knows that he will be a guest of the Federal Bureau of Prisons which is under the control of the chief executive. No doubt the administrators will make his incarceration as interesting as possible.
Buzzfeed story is falling apart quickly.
The two journos who wrote it are giving vastly different accounts of what evidence they have.
One of the journos involved (Jason Leopold) has been caught lying before (said Carl Rove had released Valerie Plame’s name and was going to be indicted - all false). And has been admitted to rehab in the past for drug addiction.
It will be another short-term embarrassment for losers like Schiff and the Democrats, but they, and the media will eventually sweep all their lies under the rug.
the New york times is not even MENTIONING this “story” on their website. That should tell us something.
Democrat fascists had better be careful about iniating unjustified impeachment. There’s plenty of us ready to defend OUR President Donald Trump!
One discredited report from NBC quoting rumors and then reactions/remarks by a long discredited Mexifornia Congress sheep.
The definition of the truth is the first story that hits the street on page 1. Everything after that is a rebuttal on page 12.

What makes anyone think that Cohen would have anything to gain?
That he suborned perjury is unlikely, but Cohen has been said to possess secretly-recorded tapes. Can’t help but wonder what’s on those tapes, if they actually exist.
Cohen turned on Trump a long time ago. Now he's trying to weasel out of a three year stint in prison he's due to begin serving in March.

The issue is that the Mueller investigation is wrapping up and they have nothing, so they’re leaking speculative crap to various media outlets to try to get Trump to freak out.
