No, he doesn’t. This will be the second crying-wolf out of two national addresses he’s given in two years in office.

A horrible, pathetic waste. What is he doing but negotiating against himself again? Very unfortunately compromised IMO with threats against his family.

Exactly. The fainting goats have got to learn to start taking deep breaths.

This is good politics and even better theater. Note the statement included specific language about this being the President’s THIRD attempt to meet with dems regarding ‘border security’.

Two smart verbal messages. First, emphasis placed on President Trump’s *reasonableness* in his efforts to reach out to the churlish opposition.

Next, frame the issue as ‘border security’, something no politician wants to be caught publicly opposing. Being against ‘border security’ is a pretty untenable position. It makes great sound bites. People hear ‘border security’ and reflexively nod.

Using “the wall” just invited push back.

Well played, Mr President. Well, played.

After every inch of the wall is complete, we can talk daca. If the wall is not complete. Its 1986 all over again.
1986 is exactly how we got into this h3ll in the first place.. with no wall.
Mexico n central America just got tewarded with 10 Billion dollars to keep sending invaders.. that should have been wall money.
This smells like amnesty kabuki thater, like 1986.

Of course, the US Senate and House would never vote to impeach Pence. But they could in fact make life very difficult with accusations to his very decent, traditional and moral family. And never discount the possibility of unsavory actions.

I checked up on the thoughts of "no problem, Pence as President would select a new VP". That's not exactly true. A nominee for that position would have to be approved by majorities in both the House and Senate.

If it’s amnesty for DACA, we’re screwed.

Trump could’ve built the wall without dealing with the treasonous dems. This will be a HUGE defeat.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t know why he’s wasting his time to announce another cave to the Democrats who will just throw it back in his face.
Now he should announce the firing of all the non essential government workers saving about 150 billion dollars, use that money to have the Army Corp. Of Engineers build the wall.
Tell Nancy she can then go on vacation

Agree. Do not doubt that if he declares a national emergency that the unhinged Left may well use that as grounds for impeachment, citing it as an attempt to violate the role of congress, something like that that they will call a “high crime” and get a small army of law professors to back them up. it would be a distraction at best and an actual constitutional crisis at worst. He wants to avoid that of course.

They could even try to invoke the 25th amendment. These people are sick!

They are and it’s clear they’re not going to stop. EVER.

Therefore, this country is either headed to Civil War or we fail to stand up to them and become a third world socialist hellhole. I can’t logically see any other outcome of all this, based on the way they’ve acted and are continuing to act.

I warned last night its Amnesty and Daca amnesty.
Which will end his Presidency and the Gop
Daca amnesty will flip 5 Red states and make the Country Mexifornia .

Millions qualify as Daca and they can sponsor millions more . The Gop Senate Open Borders / Chamber of Crooks whores and Traitors WIN .

We as a nation are GONE .

Javanka been pushing Amnesty from day One .

And we have 100,000 Syrian Muzzie Invaders here in 2 years to prove it thanks to them

I hope this us wrong but this is a Open Border WH .
They kicked Numbers USA , a true anti invasion group out of the WH a year and half ago .

Don't. be surprised .

This WH will do it .

Then they’ll go after Pence, to try to get to a President Pelosi.

That’s not likely. After all, even if their evil plan works and they manage to get rid of OrangeManBad Pence will still have the ability to name his own Vice President, won’t he? Just like Nixon picked Gerald Ford when Agnew resigned. THAT person would then become President, not Pelosi. The only way SHE becomes President is if both the President and Vice-President are killed at the same time - something I wouldn’t put past the Democrats, at this point.

English and are massive drains on taxpayers or 0.5 million skilled tech workers to stay, I’d choose the second all day every day. Doesn’t mean I’d like it. But far better than both staying.

There is nothing STRAW about pal. This is a very serious issue.

Of course you don't work in IT and so you don't have to support a family and compete with a flood of immigrants depressing your wages and taking your job. What did you do for a living?

Fair? There is nothing fair about targeting Americas for wage and livelihood destruction. If I posted what I want to do to you I’d be banned.

What I wrote (I looked it up). Pence would nominate a new VP. But according to the Constitution, BOTH the US Senate and House would have to vote to confirm, with a majority being necessary in each Chamber.

What Witch Pelosi's refusal to negotiate is about now is getting those new, spunky reps in line and keeping them there. Once she has that control, they'll vote in lockstep, like dems always and 'pubs never do.

I'm giving up hope. I hope President Trump FINALLY, in that 3PM address, issues that EO to build the wall. The longer he waits, the less it looks like an emergency. Besides that, if President Trump keeps making concessions in what looks like a desperate attempt to get negotiations going, pretty soon there won't be much left to concede.

You know Daca amnesty will turn the country Blue forever .
Five states Such as Fl AZ TX GA and NC turn Blue immediately.
Trump will not be reelected .

Millions qualify fir Daca and they sponsor the parents and family members.

It will end the Gop and nation.

The Stupid party just kills itself .

If it's DACA, the dems won't be satisfied. They'll want DACA and also amnesty for families of DACA recipients (parents, grandparents, siblings, …..)

I wish Jared and Ivanka would go back to NYC. They just don't get the Deplorable Agenda.

If you equate non-essential government workers with all those on furlough then you just laid off the Army Corps of Engineers. Who will build the wall then?

Could be H1b visas.

Why would that be worth a Saturday address to the nation?

It's a strawman because I'm not arguing in favor what you are suggesting. I'm arguing if my choice is having both problem A (H1Bs) and probably B which is 20x+ the size of problem A OR eliminating problem B but keeping A for a while, with perhaps some reforms, I'm going to take that for now. Ideally we'd eliminate or reduce both A and B but that does not look likely at the moment.

As for my living, I'm only 37 but have changed careers 3 times already (Operations, Financial planning, and strategy/communications with some finance as current) and my last and current two careers can be outsourced without even needing H1Bs. Fortunately, I still find ways to add value, even saving the company about 5 million a year in taxes even though I do not oversee taxes at all, and if I am outsourced or imported replacement, I have the skillset to jump to another line of work, even if not my ideal.

BTW the unemployment rate for IT professionals is 2.0% for people with at least a bachelor's degree according to the BLS, while the unemployment rate for HS only is 4% and 6% for those without a HS degree (the two groups hurt by the larger portion of immigration issues).

I’m hardly targeting your wage and livelihood destruction. I’m just realistic about what’s even achievable right now. Wage growth in the IT sector has been stellar in the last decade while it has not kept up with inflation for those competing with the 10-20 million illegals who came across the border with limited skills.
