If in NYC higher salaries than a survival income are necessary, let supply and demand take care of that. Part of the problem is making neighborhoods for people who live near their jobs and depend on public schools and public transportation and low rents safe and livable. These elitist cities aren’t doing that.
The problem is the supply of labor was artificially and illegally raised, almost to saturation. So to then use the natural mechanism of supply and demand to set wages is a false one. The whole thing is artificial and illegal.
