President Trump plans to use remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room on Saturday afternoon to propose a notable immigration compromise, according to sources familiar with the speech.
Details: The offer is expected to include Trump’s $5.7 billion demand for wall money in exchange for the BRIDGE Act — which would extend protections for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) — and also legislation to extend the legal status of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, according to a source with direct knowledge.
Jared Kushner and Mike Pence have led the crafting of this deal and the negotiations with members, according to White House officials.

Actually, No he doesn't. The Constitution makes HIM a co-equal branch of the government which means the judiciary cannot dictate to him about anything. Ties between the executive and judicial branches are determined by the Congress through proper legislation. I wish Trump would act as a President rather than an ordinary citizen when it comes to the orders of the courts.

I could hardly disagree more. It’s true that walls can be breached - any security expert will tell you that, while at the same time advising you that a wall would be your first and best course of action. The bigger the barrier, the more effective it will be.
Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t think border patrol or all the people watching what happens would allow those gates to be opened. The dems best bet is to make sure the wall is never built. That’s why Pelosi won’t go for the deal. Seems to me she’s screwed regardless of what she does.
Dems get 5 million new voters and we don’t even get 1/5th the wall funded. This country is done. It’s racing towards open borders and socialism. There is no way the GOP will win elections much longer.

Its NOT a cave its BRILLIANT..Remember, two years ago Trump offered the Dems DACA(2 million of them) and the Dems said no..this is the same offer.DACA for the WALL..Trump is backing Dems into a corner, Dems claim to care SO much about “Dreamers” yet they are going to say NO to this deal because they want open borders. Then Trump can say “Wait, I thought Democrats care about dreamers yet they are saying NO to this deal” TRUST IN TRUMP he knows EXACTLY what he is doing!

If true it is not an actual cave but rather an attempted cave which is worse. The dems will not accept it so nothing becomes of this. The dems will hold firm.
Whatever Trump does he must keep the Republicans in line. Pubs can get awful wobbly and could decide they have had enough at some point.
Currently half of all the illegals in the U.S. are people who arrived here legally on a tourist, work or student visa but never left.
The current $5.7 billion that is requested would build 20% of a southern border complete wall.

The people caving are the ones ready to throw Trump under the bus. He has repeatedly stayed two or more plays ahead of everyone else so I don’t understand why everyone is in such a panic. Trump knows exactly what he’s doing.

I am okay with this strategy. If the Dems bite, then the wall goes up and we stop the influx. bleeding, fix a problem that with those DACA people (and show Hispanics that we care), and end the shutdown with Trump getting the credit. If the Dems balk, well then they own the DACA mess and the shutdown.
It’s not going to happen and would be an utterly STUPID thing to do in this economy.
