A couple more things about Linda... there's the O'Neill rule, "all politics is local"; and there's also the need to maintain some kind of channel of communication with Turkey, y'know, not as strong as the one the Iranian mullahs have, or as strong as what Putin has, but a way to keep Erdogan from getting even farther gone.
The Khashoggi "leaks" were obviously concocted (no iWatch works as described in Turkey's BS story) and probably cooked up by Putin's spies, but it's pretty clear that the muzzie bro-hood terrorist-coddling jihadist wannabee is stone cold dead, and not a moment too soon. If I had to make a wild guess, he'd probably been warned multiple times not to do what was always doing, and his last trip to Turkey was to make contact with either the softboiled jihadist running Turkey or with some other jihadist group (and all of them are exactly the same, even when they're at each others' throats). He was summoned to the embassy 'cause he had some 'splainin' to do, and apparently someone wasn't crazy about his explanation.
