A fire Sunday morning in Northwest Washington, D.C., damaged studios for Fox News, C-SPAN and MSNBC, and forced "Fox News Sunday" to relocate its broadcast to a local affiliate's studio.
D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted that an electrical fire broke out in the 8th floor television studio but nobody was injured.
Steve Scully, the political editor for C-SPAN, tweeted shortly after 7 a.m. that the Fox News and C-SPAN studios sustained "extensive damage," and MSNBC's studio took on "extensive smoke and water damage."

In this day and age, why don’t Circuit breakers and AFCI’s (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters) work?
And, you just have to *know* that the local building inspector ‘bought off’ on the install.
All the gear in the studios have fuses or CB’s too.
I would love to see the Fire Marshall’s report on this when he/she is finished.

Fuses and breakers are for circuit protection as you obviously know. There are endless ways for fires to occur which don’t result in a breaker of fuse trip.

THAT SAID, even the DNC and RNC HQs are 3/10 mi away from each other in DC, and the NYC broadcasting locations of the MSM are in separate buildings (though near each other).
