Activist politics strongly attracts narcissists. These are people who see activism as an opportunity to show the world how important they are and how essential they are to ‘saving’ the world. Think Hillary Clinton.

The Democrats attract these kinds of people, because only in an activist party with a penchant for controlling society can narcissistic activists pursue their grandiose dreams. These kinds of people don't want private American citizens to make their own way, and control their own destiny, because that would reduce the central importance the activists think they have in the world.

All Politics in America Is Not Local but Ultimately Racial.

I have been pushing this theory for years.

The author does a fine job of cataloging the outrages of the Democrat party in opposing Donald Trump but he does not answer the question posed by the headline, why are the Democrats so obsessed?

One could conclude that they are frustrated in their ability to push their progressive agenda and no doubt that would be a contributing factor to their state of mind. Equally, they are frustrated, no doubt, by the surprising loss of the election by Hillary Clinton. Some no doubt are disdainful of Trump for his style and simply cannot believe that such a man could occupy the highest office in the land.

All of these things probably have some truth attached to them but I believe the left is outraged rather than merely frustrated because they believe the Donald Trump is the epitome of white racism. The allegation of course is false but it is apparently unquestioned among the ranks of progressives. We conservatives tend to have our own tests of a politician's mindset, for example, is he or is he not against abortion? But progressives torque every issue into one of race. It is the beginning and end of every argument for them.

As tribalism prevails in every corner of our culture, as it perverts every one of our institutions, the first question a progressive asks is, is the protagonist of the correct identifiable tribe? The last question asked is are we progressives losing on a favored issue, if so the answer is invariably racism. It is all over MSNBC today as it presents a rank racist, Al Sharpton, to libel Donald Trump as a racist. The irony is entirely unacknowledged by MSNBC.

But their hypocrisy only illuminates the power that race has in American politics today.

Hate historical norms of "Right" and "Wrong",

The proglibs aren't actually wholly in favor of open borders themselves. Oh sure, there's a segment who would like to keep the flow of illegals to pad their electoral chances. But even the bulk of proglibs desire - like the majority of overall Americans - to secure our borders.

Consider this: how soon would a border protection bill be passed if a DNC president was elected in 2020? Probably within a month right? And why not? Securing the border is something they are all on record of supporting.

So, why oppose Trump on this issue and essentially put the entire country at risk? Politics, pure and simple. As far as proglibs are concerned, 2 years of open borders is worth the price to damage Trump's chances of re-election. They figure once they are back in charge, the country could actually return to some kind of normalcy.

Now, flip the analysis around. Just like situations where using radar discloses your own position, the proglibs have essentially "outed" themselves. Their objectives and strategy couldn't be more clear. So, once you know the position to which your enemy is fully committed, it becomes a much easier task to develop counter measures.

It's obvious - at least to me - that this allows Trump to become even more of a border hawk. If the proglibs are not going to negotiate in good faith under any set of conditions, then he longer has to even consider them as a possible alternative. Rather, all the action moves to SCOTUS. Whether Trump is waiting for notorious RBG, or whether his team might have an alternative filing/appeals strategy (perhaps via the 5th district), this is now the theater that he can concentrate his energy.

That means, of course, that his end game is the EO declaration. He pull that off, and he both wins 2020, secures the nation, and possibly sets up the board to re-claim the House. The DNC of course is not stupid, so they've game played this as well. Clearly, they've concluded they concede now, they lose in 2020. So all they have to do is hold firm and make Trump take the chances. If he prevails, it's ok, because they would have lost anyway by providing any concessions.

WHy do they oppose 'Americans'? First let's get the definition of 'American' clear in the DEMOCRATIC party.

American-to Dems- are liberals, everyone equal, no one better and Obedient to the Democratic party. Everyone else is a Deplorable, redneck, working peon whose only purpose is to pay taxes and shut up.

Now, the last Presidential election proved the country is divided-NOT in the Dems favor(by numbers or inclination to vote). Enlightened, obedient 'Americans' were denied the throne for their chosen leader-Hillary.
That cannot-in their world-happen again. If it does their gravy train stops. Trump is putting on the brakes, but its a big, powerful train and will take time to stop completely.
They are facing a real threat to their elections, government contracts, nepotism,etc. No more 93 friends and relatives on 'diplomatic' trips(free vacations). No more leaving office a millionaire-and setting up your relatives for life. ALL that is threatened by 'mean' Americans who DARED to vote against them.

Open borders mean we look benevolent and generous to all of Central America(and any other country that wants to infiltrate via Mexico). Dems want to keep handing out merciful food and housing and healthcare to any and all( paid for by Deplorables) RESULTING in thankful and dependent PARASITES who will vote to keep all they are given(and more) as promised by Democratic candidates. Open borders= dependents=growing numbers of VOTERS who will, eventually and permanently, outnumber OLD Americans and create NEW, dependent lower class,SLAVE Americans. Leaving the ruling class Dems like Pelosi, Schumer etc rich and powerful forever!
No more rebellious uprising of the peons who DARED give us Trump instead of Hillary.

Depending on the source, something like $70 - $150 billion/year of govt. support (our tax dollars) goes into the pot for illegal aliens for food/housing/medical/etc. vs a measly $6 billion one time payment to stop us tax payers from getting bilked out of $70-$150 billion every year, - if you were a crook who dipped into the illegal alien pot at will, which option would you fight againt?
