It’s ALL minority heritage. Native American stock is overlooked altogether, but “Indian” figures prominently. And Jamaican background, while not strictly of the same antecedents as descent from US black slaves, makes a decent cover in the eyes of the less sophisticated.

FYI.......my incompetence does not allow me to do this. Laura Bazelon in the Friday NY Times, had a long expose on Harris that hugely exposed her & it wasn’t pretty. Quite a few commenters were appalled they did not know this.
