I doubt the Dem bill will get 60 votes just yet. It will get a few GOP votes like Murkowski, Collins, etc. and be a “bipartisan” hammer with which to attack POTUS on the shutdown.

Without a doubt McConnell is moving the back stab of POTUS ball down the field with this dueling bills nonsense. He really acts as if we’ve never seen his beltway theater games before. Pathetic.

I’m pretty sure this is just more theater. Mitch is laying the ground work to sell out POTUS. No doubt in my mind. The real crunch comes when the next pay period hits. We’re not quite there yet.

I figured the play was they’d both pass. One of them is exactly the house bill so that will go to Trump and the other will die in the house. They’ll force Trump to Veto and take all of the pressure off the Dems. If it’s 60 then that’s not the play but then that’s not much of a deal. I think the deal with for straight up or down votes

All bills start in the House. If the Senate starts a bill and sends it to the house. Then the house has to vote on it as is. If the house changes anything, One word, one period, then it has to go back to the senate and voted on again. The house can take up the senate's bill but can't change a thing. That's how the ACA Obamacare got passed. That's why Nancy didn't won't anybody to read it. It's called reconciliation. Mitch and the president send this bill to Nancy, if she turns it down then the whole government shut down is now Nancy's fault.
