When those furloughed workers who have their hands out receive their back pay, are they going to donate back to the local charities that have helped them out during this time?

Just curious.

he’s destroying his own argument; he’s proving that the private sector responds to these kinds of “crises” better than government.

Just more proof these people do not know how to take care of themselves after losing one paycheck.

They will be crying next they need assistance to pay their country club fees.

They probably could not handle actually working for a living like the rest of us do.

what utter BULLsheit!
1. most of these workers are paid total compensation far in excess of average Americans, or most Americans doing similar-skilled tasks in the real economy
2. its only been a few weeks
3. they will be paid, never have not been
4. their credit unions and banks are offering fast signature loans at least cost
5. its not as if they haven’t had opportunity to save up a few dollars for a few weeks’ food!

this is all bullsheit propaganda...to make us feel sympathy for people who are, actually, getting free paid vacations!
I wish someone would give the rest of us free paid vacations, ha! just not the taxpayers!!!

I come from a long line of federal workers, going back to the 1920s. Things may be different now, but I know that there are still a lot of good people working in government positions.

But anyone who goes to work for the government is apprised of the fact - and should pay attention to it - that there may be times when something like this might happen. For most of them, saving up at least a month or so of emergency fund should be standard practice, and not so difficult.

I realize that some of the people on the bottom of the salary rung, and some who work for contractors, are hurting and worried, now. But most of them knew what they were buying when they hired-on.

The 800k should take this as a learning experience. If they really cant miss a paycheck without starving.

When the SHTF most will be dead in 30 days.

There wont be no hind tit of the Govt to suck on.

“Star Chef: Shutdown causing humanitarian emergency (feeds Pelosi)”

Pelosi can end the “humanitarian emergency” tomorrow. She has it in her power but chooses to let people “suffer”. So heartless!

I find it astounding that just about every freeper in this thread seems to automatically take the position that the “shutdown” is “our” doing only. Hardly anyone throws it back to Pelosi and the RATS. They could end the shutdown and the “misery” immediately. They know how, and in the process they would stem the tide of invaders and make our country safer, and save a ton of money.

Why aren’t republicans and Trump pushing this point EVERY DAY, instead of being on the defensive??

“It seems to me that Trump IS doing it every day.”

Sorry, I don’t see it. I see him offering deals to the Rats and I don’t see a single republican congressman making that argument and putting the heat on her.

Trump can’t help what other people will or won’t do.

I think he’s doing an excellent job with the hand he’s been dealt.
