Limbaugh highlighted recent news media narratives framing a group of Covington Catholic High School students as “racists,” including agreement from ostensibly conservative news media outlets and personalities.

Yes, back in the 70’s and 80’s they had a real powerhouse of writers. Looked forward to each edition. I used to exchange them with a lib friend for his New Republics. Always amazed at how jejune and shallow the NR was after reading the NRO.

NR still has some good writers. Victor Davis Hanson is excellent. The problem with NR is what Ann Coulter correctly identified when she had her much publicized spat with them a few years ago: a group of “girly men” running things there. There’s a powerful element at the magazine that sees itself as the last bastion of polite, respectable conservatism. Pouncing on MAGA kids from Kentucky fit their narrative, so they ran with it. They don’t recognize that the world has changed. Their brand of polite, respectable conservatism is like the Bruce Willis character in The 6th Sense: dead but they don’t know it yet. The left is too out of control to play nice with anymore.
