The best would be a combination of a 20% import tariff and a fair tax.

Er, don’t look now, but the FAIRtax rate, 23%, IS an import tariff.

ONE of the features of the FAIR tax that I really like is that it levels the playing field re: domestic vs. imported goods. That is, they are treated EQUALLY - both are taxed at EXACTLY the same rate.

That is but one of the reasons the FAIRtax is called “FAIR!”

PS With FAIRtax, there is not need for tariffs!
