Why not, it makes sense. I guess if he wants to invite the House he can hold the SOTU speech in the Kennedy Center.
The President of the United States should not be turned away from the podium of the House Chamber where his predecessors have spoken to Joint Sessions of Congress for the past 100 years.
If he gives this address anywhere else he will be surrendering something that does not belong to him, and he will be accepting the same principle that allows leftists to attack children wearing MAGA hats because they are “triggering” and allows them to break up Trump rallies because President Trump, uniquely among all his 44 predecessors, is somehow less of a President than all of them.
This cannot stand.
