A migrant caravan trying to reach the U.S. is expected to grow as thousands gather at Mexico's southern border awaiting entry. Last week, Mexico decided to fast-track humanitarian visas so migrants can enter legally and nearly 8,000 people have applied. So far, more than 500 visas have been issued.
Thousands of migrants are gathered on both sides of Mexico-Guatemala border because of the five-day waiting period to get visas. Now, those who had originally entered Mexico illegally are trying to backtrack to the border, so they too can get visas, reports CBS News' Adriana Diaz.
As the buses arrived in Tapachula, 15 miles north of the border, desperation set in. The lines began forming before dawn Tuesday as word spread that the Mexican government was transporting migrants who had entered illegally to get humanitarian visas.
In the line, Diaz met Salvadoran Aura Guinea and her 5-month-old daughter. She sees the visa as a means to get to the U.S. and is willing to keep trying. Many of the migrants have their sights set on the U.S. after entering Mexico illegally in the larger October caravan.

I am wondering why the Mexican government does not deport the illegal aliens which invade their country on their Southern border.
Permanently close the border, and stop sending aid money there. In addition, suspend allowing any money to be sent to citizens of Mexico by their relatives here in the U.S.
Why the ##!!??# is Mexico giving them visas? So they can easily come up to our southern border?

Her first words if she can enter US illegally, and probably the only English she knows is: Where is welfare office?

Embed them with Mexicans the government prefers not to have in their own country and then head out north to the Mexican-American border.
How generous of the Mexican government.
The United States is truly the laughing stock of the world when it comes to immigration. Americans don’t even have the sense to guard their own country.
These visas are of very short duration. Mexico has been issuing them for many years. Now that the Dems have the house and the courts, Mexico probably doesn’t feel like it needs to fear Trump. They will get these migrants through their country as fast as they can. It is outrageous.
This may not be a bad thing.
If they receive humanitarian Visas from Mexico, they no longer qualify as refugees in America.
Trump has considered holding remittances
sent to Mexico.
