Dear Mr. President:
When I extended an invitation on January 3rd for you to deliver the State of the Union address, it was on the mutually agreed upon date, January 29th. At that time, there was no thought that the government would still be shut down.
In my further correspondence of January 16th, I said we should work together to find a mutually agreeable date when government has re-opened and I hope that we can still do that.
I am writing to inform you that the House of Representatives will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the President’s State of the Union address in the House Chamber until government has opened.
Again, I look forward to welcoming you to the House on a mutually agreeable date for this address when government has been opened.

Trump can’t give it in the House chamber unless Pelosi allows vote on a joint resolution...and that’s not going to happen.

Then do as someone here suggested earlier -
1. Declare a national emergency and begin building the wall NOW.
2. Declare that no two-bit leftist “judge” has a say.
3. Open the Government.
4. Announce that since the Government is now open, he’s going to give the speech as planned.
5. Give the speech and call every last RAT out by name, then top it off by announcing the arrest of the entire Clinton cabal AND Barack Hussein Obama for sedition.
6. Release the FISA warrant to prove it.
7. Turn around, spit on Nancy Pelosi and walk out.
I commented a few days ago on this. Its not a rally, and while POTUS looks good at rallies, there is a decorum he should uphold for SOTU. He also needs to have a venue where congress (R’s) can show up and show support so it needs to stay in DC. In DC its January so it needs to be inside. The closer he is to the HOR and the bigger and more supportive the crowd, the worse it makes the HOR look.

Okay, Trump now gets around to ‘there will be an alternative’. Guess we get to wait and see. I still say pick a stadium and fill it with 75-100,000 Americans.
