“The sisters’ bodies were found both wearing black leggings and fur-trimmed jackets. They were bound together loosely with duct tape at the waist and ankles. A witness reported seeing the Fareas earlier that day praying loudly and holding their heads in their hands near the area where it’s believed they then walked into the water, intentionally drowning themselves”.

This is a case of it’s entirely possible the two sisters committed suicide.

They were summoned to go back home. Dollars to doughnuts they were going back home to be married and to men they didn’t want to be married to and quite possibly did not even know. They would have been the property of their perspective husbands, open to being raped by their husbands, and beaten by them as well as their husbands’ immediate families.

Given that information, it’s quite possible to see they would have taken their own lives.

The duct tape holding them together was loose, which it most likely would have been if they applied the tape...it would have not been a professional job.

As for drowning.... all it would take is for one sister to drop into the river...her weight would have dragged the other down and between the weight of the bodies and their clothing it would have happened fairly quickly.

Such sorrow, for them.
