Pelosi, D-Calif., made a considerable misstep when she sent the president a short letter Wednesday stating: “I am writing to inform you that the House of Representatives will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the president’s State of the Union address in the House Chamber until government has opened.”

With Pelosi foolishly refusing to allow the president to deliver the State of the Union in the House chamber, some alternate locations that have been floated for the speech – including the White House, Republican-held state legislative chambers, or even at our border with Mexico.
But for the sake of national unity, the State of the Union should be delivered where it has been traditionally delivered for more than 100 years – the House chamber.
What is arguably most concerning about Speaker Pelosi refusing to allow the State of the Union to proceed as planned is that her actions are seemingly the continuation of a very wrongheaded approach by which the Democrats obstruct President Trump at every possible step.

Doesn’t matter. Everyone is going all in on this shutdown. Honestly, I don’t know what ends it, although I suspect (sadly) it will involve the GOP in Congress.
House Chambers don’t belong to Pelosi.
No, he’s the dope who hired Jessica Tarlov with the horribly annoying voice. But democrats normally are very good at sticking together and they’re not doing so over this. Pelosi has over-reached and is losing support for a change. Hopefully Trump will drive her out of her mind, but not right away...another year or two of this chaos will be great.
I heard an idea forwarded last night that he should give the SOTU speech similar to an FDR Fire side chat. With angel parents and officer Singh’s family present along with the Rep leadership from the WH. I still like the idea.

Pelosi doesn’t know how to deal with someone that doesn’t bend easily to her will like the House dems have been doing for years. They are all deathly afraid of her and wouldn’t dare buck her. Dealing with Trump , for the first time she has someone who won’t do what she says. She acts like a five year old, stomping her feet. Very childish. I don’t think anyone in her life has ever told her no.

Isn’t the President required by the Constitution to deliver the SOTU? If Pelosi is stopping the President from fulfilling his Constitutional rights, isn’t that SEDITION?
Trump is the peoples President. He should report to the people at the biggest arena he can find in the south for a rally.
No, no and no. The President is required to report from time to time on the state of the union. For most of the country’s history presidents did it with a letter to Congress. Not only does the President not have a right to speak to Congress, he’s forbidden from entering except upon its express invitation. Pelosi invited - then uninvited - Trump.
He can just post it on the White House website.

I have confidence she will not be blocking his path. And all of you chicken littles who have thrown President Trump under the bus... I expect an apology from you. He has more tricks up his sleeve ...pay attention closely and please next time don’t be so wimpy.
