I am too, but only because I set an expectation that includes making Pelosi eat her words. In the big picture, the SOTU is small potatoes. Getting the wall is everything.
I also think she does not want to have to appear on camera for who knows how long behind Trump, simply seated, not saying a word.
She has too many weird facial tics that people will hone in on.

The speech itself - who cares? I'd rather hear his standard stump speech and references to the corrupt media, corrupt politicians, and corrupt Hollywood stars.

If he sticks to his demands, IF he sticks to his demands, he will deliver the address with a humiliated Pelosi seated behind him beside Vice President Pence. The House Democrats are cracking.
My feeling is President Trump might even be gracious and not point out that the prolonged shutdown could have been avoided had the Speaker not been so stubbornly determined to score points for the radical left.

Pelosi’s position is degrading among her supporters with time; Trump’s isn’t.
Time is on Trump’s side. Pelosi needs the shutdown to end much more than Trump does.
At this point it time it should be evident that the Democrats genuinely fear Trump talking to the American public directly.
By not canceling, but putting the speech at the end of the shutdown, he is playing on Pelosi’s fear to cause her to continue to damage her position. And because she is an idiot, she will predictably respond by being less eager to see the shutdown end.

POTUS, Trump has made a very wise & correct move in declaring that he will deliver his SOTU address in the House of Representatives Chamber after the Federal Shutdown has ended. For those folks that claim Trump caved...they are dead wrong.
First, giving the SOTU anywhere but in the House Chamber would have let Nancy Pelosi off the hook and many of the Democrat “Fake Media” would have not broadcast it live...thus limiting the impact of the speech on the American public.
Second, when POTUS, Trump does deliver the SOTU speech the House gallery chamber will be filled with “Angel Moms, Dads and Families, including Children, along with Venezuelans & with Cubans, which will clearly inform the American People that Trump is going after both Venezuela & Cuba (Which, by the way, their populations, are both now starving food daily).
Nancy Pelosi will be forced to be present or she will not show up and be in hiding. The nutcase Democrat Caucus will make total fools of themselves in the public view of millions of Americans watching on TV, live stream, the internet, etc.
Smart move, POTUS, Trump, As usual that strategic mind of yours is always working for the benefit of the American people.
If I were an Democrat, which I am not and never will be, I would vote today in the Senate, to give Trump his 5.7 Billion bucks for Southern Wall Funding. If the Democrats miss this chance, the price they will pay down the road will be much more painful and devastating then they ever dreamed of it being. Smart move...President, Trump!!!
On the other hand it makes him sound like the adult in the petty battle over the State of the Union address and he really hasn't given anything up.
Why - he took the higher road instead of turning the SOTU into a circus...believe it - he will leverage a LOT when he gets around to the SOTU.
