I use Bing too for the same reason I read Playboy as a kid — for the pictures.

Actually, Microsoft has a lot of bad aspects too but in the hierarchy of my hate, Microsoft/Bing fall well below Google in my book.

As to the internet, Europe and America are trending the direction of China as to access and content.

My way of thinking too. The Microsoft data collection machine is amateur hour compared to google. Bing just got kicked out of China while Google is working with Chinese censors to make a China version of google search modified in ways the ChiCom honchos demand. Bing is good 95% of the time. Sometimes a google search is needed to find obscure items.
