2020 will be a major socialist push nationwide. The far-left is forcing the moderate Democrats to the socialist left. They are literally terrified of saying anything against Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and the like.

It’s the culmination of years of far-left indoctrination in the schools. Vast majority of Americans have no idea how the economy works.

This is going to tough to stop. It’s the way the country is moving. The media is giving these socialist politicians all the air time. The few rational people left in the Democratic party is scared to speak up against it.

The government does not have the right to set a maximum or minimum hourly pay rate. Asking the people if it’s OK doesn’t change that fact.

FRiend, that ship has LONG since sailed. Hell, you note how long it took for your (correct) response to pop into the thread?? The ‘great’ FR armchair warriors never get to the root, they always begin every discussion using the Leftists’ presumptions (should pop into onto the SS/MediXYZ threads *rolls eyes*).

I'd say impossible. 1/2 of FL is 3rd world now.

The unofficial language of my Florida County's employees could be Haitian Creole or Spanish.

Out of 17 amendments on the Florida 2018 ballot, 16 passed. I think most vote yes on all amendments. It would not shock me to see this pass.

This is the same state where Andrew Gillum got 49% of the vote for governor. Give enough people time to think about this and it will pass.

Almost chose commie Gollum for govnah.

With the help of two Election Supervisors who are no longer in place. I’m guessing there was pretty good evidence they were throwing the race.

I don’t believe the whole text of the amendment has been made public yet. Also, the legal wording of it needs to go to the FL supreme court before going on the ballot.

The minimum wage issue aside, Florida is an incredibly idiot state for allowing Constitutional Amendments on non constitutional issues. The constitution of the state isn’t worth it good damn when it can be constantly amended by referendum.

I really don’t understand why the state supreme court allows non constitutional issues to be injected into the state constitution. For example no smoking in bars and turtle Nets. May as well not even have a constitution, just have a referendum on every damn thing.

I pity this country. If these idiots think America will never replicate what is going on right now in Venezuela, they are mistaken. Those who look to government for their liberty and answers to life’s problems are mentally ill.

Alarmingly, nearly one-third --30 percent -- (of businesses surveyed) say they may be forced to go out of business, with 18 percent very likely to close. They do not think they could absorb the increase or pass it along to their customers.

They should be able to set a minimum wage. It is a states rights issue.

Mentally a lot of Freepers in the 60s and 70s think it is still 1974 and $15.00/hr sounds exorbitant. It’s not 1975, that was 44 years ago. Maybe $15.00 is too high but it isn’t crazy high.

The government does not have the right to set a maximum or minimum hourly pay rate.

The SCOTUS has upheld the minimum wage about 100 times.

What the hypocrites against the minimum wage increase are really saying is they want to keep in place the taxpayer subsidized low end labor market. This has created more Democrats and less Republican voters over time and more public debt.
