Several months into the Trump administration, I started running a daily “Border Wall Construction Update” on Twitter, announcing how many miles of the wall had been completed that day and how many miles since the inauguration. It was always the same numbers: 0 and 0, respectively.

I was immediately attacked by people in the Trump base. You’re being unfair, he hasn’t had enough time, there’s a legislative process, he’s doing the best he can.

As days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and months turned to years, and not 1 inch of the wall was built, the “3-D chess” crowd dwindled.

Sometimes Trump would concede he hadn’t built any part of the wall. Sometimes he would fib and claim it was being built. There’s no way to sugarcoat it: That was a lie.

Drug dealers, drunk drivers, criminals, welfare dependents and low-wage workers driving down American wages continued to flow across our border.

We are now past the midway point of Trump’s first term, maybe his only term. If Trump couldn’t come up with a legislative fix when he controlled both houses of Congress, he’s sure not going to now that he’s lost the House.

We are headed for another failed Republican presidency.

I’ll have to admit, the news has been demoralizing lately.

Trump says he will declare an emergency to protect the country but prefers to wait for the democrats to allow him to protect the country.

It looks like border security is completely collapsing. The caravans are moving north based on information that has been networked back to them. All they have to do is set foot in the country and they are protected.

There needs to be another word developed that defines going far beyond mere insanity.

People here have stated over and over how this will hopefully work. He’s turning ‘build the wall’ into a mainstream accepted idea instead of something that is dismissed as a fringe idea. And breaking the Dems. And ripping the useless Fed bureaucracy apart. And exposing the hopelessly biased media in ways they can’t hide from or cover up.

1) EOs can also be upheld by courts. When it’s done by the SCOTUS it’s especially legit.

Remember the crappy landing mat fence in San Diego/Tijuana when President Trump's prototypes were built?

Well it has been replaced with new 18 foot concrete filled steel bollards with anti-climb plate, with reinforced concrete foundations two feet thick and six feet deep.

A whole 14 mile layer has been going in at San Diego, from the Ocean to the mountains (about ten miles done, contracted to finish by May). A second layer of barrier there (30 foot bollards) has been contracted and starts next month.

30 foot bollards went in West of the Calexico Port of Entry, 20 miles extending West from El Paso, more miles in downtown El Paso. Additional contracts have already been awarded in the Rio Grande Valley, Tecate, Yuma and Lukeville as well. Work on those is to begin within weeks.

For some reason, Ann Coulter continues to pretend that nothing has been done.

I get Coulter’s point and I may be wrong but I think she wants to see someone Break Ground.

She’s not correct though. Work is being done and ground has been broken. I would like to see the entire length of wall have a 6 foot concrete and rebar footing to make it much harder to dig under and give the wall a better foundation so if some fool wants to crash a dump truck into it; the wall holds and the dump truck is totaled.

Wasn't Coulter pro-Mitt Romney. And favored Chris Christie? Hmmm...

Coulter is just another CINO, Conservative in Name Only. Seems to be more anti-Trump than anything else.

I used to like her intellect but the sheen is off the rose nowadays for me.

I believe Trump has a strategy for getting the wall built (or at least part of it -- it will take many years to build the entire thing) but it is his short-term tactics that get people on the Right all hot and bothered.

He's done everything else he said he would do (except repeal ObamaCare and I put that onus on the dead RINO traitor, McCain and his "no" vote) so there is no reason to think he won't get this wall built.

Nobody can predict the future but based on his track record as president in just two years, my money is on Trump.

Coulter and others have already chalked up his defeat in 2020 as certain.

Negative pessimists all.

Coulter supported Trump before anyone else did. She even wrote a book about it. People are pissed at her because she’s holding Trump’s feet to the fire.
