Good! Make it harder for liberals to fly.

Who denies history repeats itself?

This was hatched by political operatives. Follow the communication trails, money, and chatter in the right places.

Nancy sent the House home a day early so that they could all get home before the slowdown.

Surely you know this is not always practical. It takes days to drive across the US and that’s if you are flying domestically. There is no choice for international travel.

Back in the day i was an Air traffic controller for the Marine Corps, half the time whatever squadron I was in guys would leave and go straight to the FAA very little training required they already had 3 years experience working with the same systems.
If I was pulling in $120,000 with the feds and knew about 2000 or so folks could take my place, I think I would show up for work.

Isn’t she in Afghanistan?

Trump missed his big chance.

Should have let her go and shut off transport back...

I haven’t heard a peep about increased border wait times due to CBP Officers getting “sick”.

Anybody?

Let’s see ... New York City, Philadelphia and Newark. You won’t find too many cities more “blue” than these dumps in the U.S.

I flew on the day after the strike in 1981 and the supervisors running the ATC positions were better and easier to work with then the regular controllers who were 3 times as many.

I've written here several times about the over dramatization of the stress that controllers face and the overstaffing, at least before Reagan, but things were not so great for me at least initially with the replacement controllers. I was vectored for landing in the wrong direction at an unfamiliar field that had been downgraded to Unicom.

I am planning a flight which would use one of those airports and have my ticket already, Good thing I bought the reservation cancellation insurance - I may have to use it.

Maybe it’s time for airports to hire independent security firms for TSA staffing. Don’t know what to say about air traffic controllers but seems like there would be many who would want those jobs.

They are not working without pay. They are working with GUARANTEED back pay.

The media is filled with liars.

“I was vectored for landing in the wrong direction at an unfamiliar field that had been downgraded to Unicom”

There were a few hiccups. I listened as a supervisory controller told an air carrier to go around because a departing aircraft didn’t expedite his takeoff. He had let the spacing get too close, and didn’t want to risk it.

But it all settled down in a few days. And the radio was a lot calmer with the old guys doing all the talking. They let the pilots fly their airplanes, and kept the chatter to a minimum.

“Maybe it’s time for airports to hire independent security firms for TSA staffing”

They do. In some cases.

But the real question is, why do we need a TSA?

We didn’t for most of my life. I recall being able to walk out on the tarmac to see friends and family off.

What we really need is controlled borders so the people who get in aren’t hostiles. All the 9/11 hijackers were in the country illegally in one way or another.

Trump is doing EXACTLY what the country needs - fixing our borders and controlling immigration.

Maybe someday we won’t have to face people with accents dressed in cute little blue uniforms searching us as if we’re the terrorists, when the truth is that we’re the intended victims.

Good. It’s primarily Democrats who are affected by these shutdowns.

Let them feel the pain.

And then BUILD THE WALL!!!!
