How did humanity ever survivor before a “weather service?” We are here and we did. Just another make work project stealing money form those earning real work. The weather service always gets it wrong, so why is it important? Another agency that does not need to exist.

Speak for yourself. Having NWS forecasts (or their data studied by local forecasters for use in their forecasts) is QUITE useful to me. And, they are right or close most of the time - darn good considering the complexity and variables involved.
At least a little more of humanity DIDN"T survive in the past, not having modern forecasts, observations, warnings and communications to go by. In fact, thinking back a few years, there's a fair chance I would not be around if those were lacking...
