Facebook turns 15 next month. When I started Facebook, I wasnt trying to build a global company. I realized you could find almost anything on the internetmusic, books, informationexcept the thing that matters most: people. So I built a service people could use to connect and learn about each other. Over the years, billions have found this useful, and weve built more services that people around the world love and use every day.
Recently Ive heard many questions about our business model, so I want to explain the principles of how we operate.
I believe everyone should have a voice and be able to connect. If were committed to serving everyone, then we need a service that is affordable to everyone. The best way to do that is to offer services for free, which ads enable us to do.
People consistently tell us that if theyre going to see ads, they want them to be relevant. That means we need to understand their interests. So based on what pages people like, what they click on, and other signals, we create categoriesfor example, people who like pages about gardening and live in Spainand then charge advertisers to show ads to that category. Although advertising to specific groups existed well before the internet, online advertising allows much more precise targeting and therefore more-relevant ads.
[snip]
For us, technology has always been about putting power in the hands of as many people as possible. If you believe in a world where everyone gets an opportunity to use their voice and an equal chance to be heard, where anyone can start a business from scratch, then its important to build technology that serves everyone. Thats the world were building for every day, and our business model makes it possible.

Facebook is "where everyone gets an opportunity to use their voice and an equal chance to be heard..." says The Zuck.

he build a very successful business, yes.
congrats to him for that.
but he’s let his crazy commie-style politics mess with his business
and that is doing it a whole lot of damage
Just as long as their voice agrees with me...
People consistently tell us that if theyre going to see ads, they want them to be relevant.
... Zuckerberg said, without evidence.
If I have to see ads, I want them to be stationary, not jumping and screaming all about vying to get my attention. Newspapers did it this way for centuries, and got along just fine.
That is a bizarre statement to make for someone who has jumped on the bandwagon of censoring anyone who fails to wholeheartedly promote the leftist agenda.
I wonder if he is saying this because his corporate efforts to stamp out free speech by conservatives is impacting his bottom line. We'll see how sincere about these words he is, if he starts unbanning many of the people who have been banned for expressing non-liberal views.

Zuckerberg misspoke, the ads are not relevant, they are rigged.
Polls are not needed.
People do NOT want rigged ads.
Zuckerberg lies.
Been running paid FB Ads for a couple years now. FB ruined their effectiveness when they stopped allowing income levels in targeted advertising. Now I pay for “reaches” to people who can’t afford what I’m selling.
As someone who is now serving their 4th 30 day sentence in facebook jail, Facebook has NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in allowing people to communicate. They are allergic to the truth and will stamp it out every time it rears it’s head.
Monkey's names and monkey's faces
Are always seen in public places
FussBook - The biggest internet fraud ever deployed globally.
I want to be able to opt out of the trailers, scrawlers, images in the corners and racing across the bottom or top of my TV set.
Mighty damned annoying.
If given a choice, would you rather pay $10 per month, per channel, or get a free channel, but put up with advertising?
Let me ask Hobson.
They can chop up the programs all they want with advertising.
Just keep it out of my face DURING THE PROGRAM!!
LifeLog actively supports democrat agenda by isolating conservatives and suppressing content.
I seems there should be campaign contribution laws governing this.
Experiencing my 4th suspension on FB. I stay because my family is there and because I post conservative articles which make liberals mad.
Yesterday I posted a phot of 9 democrats including Hillary and Obama. All part of the coup tempt on trump.
I was banned under the community standards for violence and criminality.
I posted “Coups are treason. Traitors should be executed.” The call for justice and legal sentencing is considered violence. Other criminals regularly called out for punishment on FB, but not those who conspire against a duly elected president.
