We pay the private rehabs with tax money already....and the recidivism rate is high...drunks and druggies in criminal jail do no better than the mentally Ill who used to be in State Hospitals...so we pay and pay and pay...but criminal jails are not for drunks and druggies or the mentally Ill....the monster is private jails..if you ever looked into this type of thing.
I have looked into it .. private rehab is far better and much more accountable than a state facility, with oodles of fed employees you cannot fire regardless of their malevolence or incompetence, as was so clearly demonstrated during the shutdown.
