[PA] State senator facing sexual assault allegation files lawsuit against accuser

A Pennsylvania state senator who was accused of sexual assault and asked to resign by the governor is now suing the accuser.

Sen. Daylin Leach filed a defamation lawsuit Monday against a woman who said Leach sexually assaulted her in 1991, when she was

Leach was an attorney at the time and represented the woman's mother in an attempted murder trial.

In the defamation suit, the woman is said to have "publish(ed), republish(ed), and widely disseminate(d) a salacious and despicable falsehood."

Last week, WGAL reported that state Senate Democrats launched an internal investigation into the complaint against Leach.

On Monday, state Rep. Brian Ellis, another lawmaker accused of sexual assault, was granted a one-week leave of absence from the House.

A woman said Ellis sexually assaulted her when she was drugged at his Harrisburg residence in 2015.

I don't have the first clue if this accusation is legit or not but if,by chance,it isn't it would be damned difficult to defend himself. There are reasons why there's a “statute of limitations” on most crimes...the most important (IMO) being the difficulty of proving innocence.

And yes,I know that the defendant doesn't have to prove anything but that's what truly innocent defendants always want to do.

The accuser is a convicted perjurer.

Could be a hit job by another Dem, who wants him out of their way.

More piss-poor reporting or deliberate cover up misinformation.
