Yeppers.
I don't believe a word I read in the news anymore.
These people had no arrest history. For all I know, these folks were patsies, set up by some drug dealers. Maybe set up by the police.
Maybe they were really bad people. But the media lie, the FBI guys lie. The politicians lie.
Trust but verify used to be true. Now it's verify first.
White folks living in a minority neighborhood
Sounds like the Avecedo doush is a dudebag...
“Can’t wait till that Rhino Hide wall bullet-proofer goes on the market so peasants can armor-up their homes to thwart the gunthugs. “
In the late 80’s a friend did some electrical work at a Hell’s Angles club house. He said the walls were lined in steel boiler plate from the floor to the bottom of the window sills.
They had no criminal records.
I watched that “Breaking Bad” program.
There’s a little bit of Tuttle in all of us.
Love, Hawkeye
Well deserved snark
Once the cops kick down your door, for the next few seconds it matters not if it was a clerical error or a case of SWATting. Armed and nervous men will suddenly be inside your living area, your dogs will be getting shot, possibly explosions will be taking place, and the lives of all in your household are at great risk.
My preference has been to make that scenario impossible. Certainly even the most mighty fortress can be breached eventually, but my objective has been to buy time.
Cops generally pile in through the front door. A concentration of force at the point of entry and then quickly spreading out and clearing rooms in the home, while other cops maintain a perimeter around the outside of the house. I have a normal-looking house, outside and inside. But breaching my normal front door doesn’t admit entry to anything but an enclosed foyer which has another door into the hallway, which door is virtually always kept secured. That is a door which I added and it’s heavy plate steel mounted in a steel frame. On the foyer side there is no knob or other mechanism for opening the door. Everything stops right there, at least for a few minutes.
If six cops pile in through the front door, six cops will have to back up out of the front door and decide how to proceed now that the element of surprise has thoroughly been lost. My guess is they would not attempt forcible entry by another means at that point, and would seek to make contact. Now there’s time to sort things out without gunplay.
Might the cops try the backdoor if they get a hint that the front door is not a good entry? Not likely. The dogs would surely alert when someone attempted to enter the backyard. The backdoor opens out onto a patio with a heavy steel enclosure, which is where the dogs normally sleep. Sure it would possible breach the enclosure with some effort and tools, and then breach the backdoor, but there would be zero element of surprise.
I liked the fisher king too
even if it was dark,, but Brazil was brilliant
Have you seen this quote from the Houston PD union head? I read and reread this quote and watched the video of him making this statement to the public. I can’t interpret his statement as anything other than a threat to those that exercise their freedom of speech. I know he is upset that police officers have been injured as we all are but this guy sounds a little off, Unhinged frankly and I really question whether this man should be carrying a weapon in any capacity. I think he needs to find another line of work. Does this guy know that the “rhetoric” he speaks of is protected by the first amendment to our Constitution? The people have every right to question police tactics and every reason to feel threatened by the rabid militarization of our once peace officers now turned neighborhood standing armies.
Here is his IMO, very disturbing statement.
“If youre the ones that are out there spreading the rhetoric that police officers are the enemy, just know weve all got your number now, were going to be keeping track of all of yall, and were going to make sure that we hold you accountable every time you stir the pot on our police officers. Weve had enough, folks. Were out there doing our jobs every day, putting our lives on the line for our families.
Thanks for the heads-up!
You know Art Acevedo was the Chief of Police in Austin prior to being hired by Houston?
...
So..... the Houston SWAT/DEA raided the home of a white couple in a black neighborhood who were probably one of the few places where there wasn’t any ‘dealing’ going on, based on the word of someone who got caught with heroin and who told police that is where he bought the heroin ?
How are you so sure that is what happened ?
“How are you so sure that is what happened ?”
HPD reports that their undercover officers bought heroin in the house.
And once you sell drugs to an undercover officer, the police return and usually do not knock on the door like Mormon missionary. Instead, they kick in the door, and if there is resistance, they take measures to save their own lives.
And Houston has two less Junkie Thug Drug Dealers!
