When a Twitter-user suggested Wednesday that this bartender should have started out running for city council, Ocasio-Cortez fired back. This bartender has served in a Senate casework office, organized & educated 1000s of young people, earned relevant degrees w/ honors, worked on field campaigns, and the only reason I wasnt told to run for city council was because I was consistently told not to run at all, Ocasio-Cortez, an organizer for Sen. Bernie Sanders campaign in 2016, wrote.
Whew. Don't ask her about the tip jar.

Given she had a degree from BU with a minor in economics, the fact that the best she could/would do was tending bar in New York City is very telling.

“organized & educated 1000s of young people,”
We’ve done the community organizer of color thing. It wasn’t a good thing.

Think about how ludicrous this is. We have a former bartender who is now a Congresswoman who think’s she’s more of an expert on the economy because she has an economics (unused) degree than a self made billionaire.
AOC, only an idiot like you could make me defend Howard Schultz. Only in today’s day and age would any person give thought to your opinion on this subject. If you wanted to pontificate on how to make a Tom Collins, I would listen to you over Schultz but not on matters of the economy and business.

And is female, Hispanic, a perfect AA hire, and yet could not get a real job in her relevant field.

She graduated with a cum laude. The break down at BU to qualify for summa cum laude, a students grade point average (GPA) must fall in the top 5 percent of the graduating class. The next 10 percent receive the designation magna cum laude, followed by the next 15 percent, who graduate cum laude and will not be given for GPAs below 3.0.
