Same thing is happening in California.
Why stop at $15? They need to go out and march for $1,000/hour:
Problem Solved!!
How about those Japanese chefs who are always trying to produce FISH ice cream?!
Yes, but restaurants usually mark up cost by a factor of 3 so that really means an increase of gross prices of over 10%.
Then, the food you are purchasing to cook also goes up because the wholesaler also has to increase prices due to wages. Food bills at restaurants will easily be 10 to 20% higher now.
Retirees in Florida:
1st guy: “When do you down here?”
2nd guy: “My plant burned down and I took the insurance and retired here. How about you?”
1st guy: “My plant flooded, luckily I had flood insurance, I took the money and moved.”
2nd guy: “How do you start a flood?”
Smartest people in the world. They think they can outrun the laws of economics.
The only seasoning I use on steak is salt and pepper so the beefy flavor comes through. Unless it's tenderloin. Then I add garlic butter or wrap it in bacon.
(Meat is my specialty.)
Um, in a competitor-less world they would. But the restaurant businesses cutthroat so I DON'T BELIEVE THAT MADE UP NUMBER. Why don't you say 5, 10 or 25 times? Why be a piker?
unions with “prevailing wage” clauses are all smiles at the rsise ...
Like all things the left does, this is another bait and switch idea to manipulate their base. The “rich” where supposed to be punished (higher costs) and the poor where supposed to benefit (more money). Meanwhile the politicians sit on the sidelines like a school yard bully watching their dupes at war. Their media lap dogs all too ready barking; “hit them again”!

I am too old to be reminded of my college days.
Um, like wha broham.... like people in Africa, like.... no dude!
The inhumanity! You mean New Yorkers might have to live a little more like us deplorable folks in FLYOVER country?
If there were zero inflation, that would be true. But inflation on food is probably 4% to 5% annually, so you are looking at a 10% one-time increase. That is noticeable on a menu and makes people reconsider. Our local airport raised “Economy” parking prices 25% on January 1!
Unexpected.
