NO, REALLY?

It only happens EVERY TIME you hike the minimum wage for your socialist schemes.

But THIS time would be different because the right people were in charge, RIGHT?!

The cost of labor is about 25% of the cost of eating out, not counting the tip. So if the 25% labor increases 15% then the OVERALL cost of dining out goes up 3.75% ( = .15 x .25 ). Wow we are all going to die!!! I had to pay 4 cents more per dollar spent!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!! /sarc

And although that’s good news for NYC restaurant servers

Not good news when it puts their employers out of business, and them out of a job.

Bet the New York commies didn't think of that, did they?

But, but... leftards feel so good inside after passing minimum wage laws. Isn’t that all that matters?

Have to wonder if these “minimum wage” dictates affect events. Last night there was a huge fire that destroyed a huge paper recycling plant in New Jersey. This plant employed hundreds of low paid, immigrant mill workers who were very loyal, good workers who were gratified to receive a regular paycheck. Today the minimum wage in NJ rose to $15/hour. Now the mill no longer exists. May have been time to collect the insurance and sell the land.

It’s a ratchet with no reverse. Raise labor cost, product costs rise, labor is back where it started from or worse, unemployed.

No surprise here. I can well remember, back in the 1970 and 1980s, when I was stationed in Germany, that every time we got a pay raise, the PX and commissary both raised their prices the exact amount of the pay raise that the fools in Congress gave us. Every year, every time, they went up. I assume they still do.

Absolutely NO understanding of cause and effect!

Same thing is happening in California.

Why stop at $15? They need to go out and march for $1,000/hour:

Problem Solved!!

Like all things the left does, this is another bait and switch idea to manipulate their base. The “rich” where supposed to be punished (higher costs) and the poor where supposed to benefit (more money). Meanwhile the politicians sit on the sidelines like a school yard bully watching their dupes at war. Their media lap dogs all too ready barking; “hit them again”!
