It was from the EVMS yearbook. His prior Alma Mater was VMI.
Alma Mater means he graduated from there, i.e. his undergraduate degree. It’s in his med school yearbook.
And since you’ll probably ask, i.e. is short for id est, Latin meaning ‘in other words’.
