You get it. You seem to see what I have seen years ago.
As the decline grows, it grows exponentially, not linear.
I told people back in 2006 that this split is gonna happen in some way and it will be amplified by the internet.
It will happen simply because all empires eventually end, but usually it is a slow process over time and the rot is under the surface.
I often wonder if growing up and living in the SF Bay Area gave me an edge in seeing the insanity before most of the rest of the country, and before I eventually left California.
My family that is still in CA and some in NY state are welcome to join me in the heartland to survive if they want.
The best tip I can think of is to make sure you are part of a survival group/neighborhood/town.
The ones that survive and eventually thrive are the ones belonging to large cohesive tribes who understand leadership and teamwork, etc.
I sure hope we can split peacefully though as I think it could still be done, but it takes leaders at the national level to begin the process. Otherwise, it will be similar to the Spanish Civil War from 1936 where the radical left gave ‘normal’ catholic christians only one choice but to join Franco and others. People forget that the left in Spain at that time passed all kinds of draconian things which is what prompted the war.
Closest historical event I can think of compared to the USA today.
There is some truth in the Spanish analogy, although as with all analogies it has to be examined closely. The SCW was rooted in royalitist-Catholic resistance towards steadily radicalized secular-leftist liberals that had gone on for over a century. The point was the Army got a lot of support from mostly apolitical middle class people who became convinced the left was using the Republic as a vehicle to set up a Leninist style social revolution. The leader of the left socialist in the Cortes Largo Caballero liked to style himself the ‘Lenin of the Spanish Revolution’. If Catholics and the middle classes had any doubts about what the left was planning the steady descent into armed violence in the last two years before the July uprising removed most doubts. Assassinations, mostly by leftists of all stripes, and attacks on church property, Malaga had over 20 churches burnt during this period, were good indications of what would happen when the real revolution happened. The final straw was the assassination of Calvo Sotelo, the leader of the Catholic Right in the Cortes. Sotelo was openly taken from his home by members of the urban gendarmes, The Assault Guards, and shot to death Chicago style and dumped on the side of the road. This would be roughly like Rush Limbaugh being arrested by the FBI and then found murdered on the roadside. The Army moved up its coup planning but instead of a swift seizure of power the left was on the alert and pretty well armed and overwhelmed rightest forces in most of the big cities, So instead of a coup a real civil war ensued. One in which Franco made sure as many leftist as possible would be executed or driven into exile.
