Thanks for the mention. I wasn’t aware of the problems with rare earth materials. Enviro whackjobs are not rational.

You are just ignorant of what other vehicles get for mpg. A new Toyota Camry L gets an average of 34mpg 29 city 41 highway.

Sure. Here is the good article I mentioned which was published by The Heartland Institute. You have probably heard of them through their great work exposing the Climate Change fraud. It's great to see them now exposing the Green New Deal fraud.

‘GREEN NEW DEAL’ RELIES ON MINERALS ENVIRONMENTALISTS WON’T ALLOW US TO MINE.

Ignorance? Perhaps. But, I do my homework when it comes to shopping for new cars or SUVs. And, I don't just follow the sticker label for MPGs. I search for experiences, online and even offline with family and friends. I may not know exactly what the best MPG vehicles are, but, I'm not gullible enough to just go by sticker or commercials/advertisements.

In any case, sedans are on the way out, no matter how good or bad any of them are. SUVs, like them or not, are where the automakers are going to be concentrating their efforts.

Lol. Yes, I heard about the gasoline heater. Apparently it was installed under the drivers seat. Absolutely not. I’d freeze first.

Ronak Patel, a CPA auditor in New Jersey, bought a Model 3 last August. He’s driven about 150 miles in the cold over the last few days.

I would never trust CPA who paid 60K for a car you can only drive an hour in the cold with heater on. You're fired!

They should offer a V-12 model. Then I’d be interested.

Based on the following, standard automotive chips operate from from -40C to +125C. Commercial grade stuff is not as robust, but probably not too likely it would be used in cars. -40C = -40F. At those temps, one had better take special precautions whether petroleum or batteries are used for power.

That is why the owner of an electric car would probably not take that car to work that day. They are probably well aware of its limitations and should be willing to live with them.

I don’t have an electric car, I can’t afford it. But I think they’re cool. I know they are coal-burning cars and they don’t do well when it is really cold. I know they are not “saving the environment”, but I still would like to have one. I like the idea of the quiet ride. I think it would be nice as a commuter car.

I think there are others out there like me. You don’t have to be a deranged leftie to like electric cars.

Exactly. Makes them a lot more expensive. The environment that a car has to function within is very harsh and extreme.

Don’t know, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay $90,000 to be his beta-tester.

Haha, that’s good. In my locale, I’m one of the few weirdos that actually parks his car in the garage. Everybody around here has the ole no-car garage (that’s where they park their jet-ski, boat, and/or junk that won’t fit through the hall to go downstairs). My garage isn’t heated but for the 15 years that I’ve been in this house, it’s pretty consistently 40-ish degrees (coldest I’ve ever seen it was 35 when it was -10 outside). When I’m driving to work, I chuckle at the people with garages that are out scraping their windows and have 4 inches of snow on their cars. Why do that to yourself?

You don’t help your case by citing garbage. Reddit, really?? I wouldn’t go there for advice on buying a blender much less a car.

Reddit has good forums like The Donald.

https://old.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/

And the Tesla forum is good, too. A lot of information there from actual owners, rather than the ignorance that gets spread all over FR.

That’s good to know. And yes, FR has declined. Honestly, I’d be a lot more heavy-handed with some of the nutjobs and hit-and-run posters that have infected the site lately. And I also don’t think that some of the weirdos on the site should be able to attack people personally and post moonbat crap that belongs on Infowars.
